FINALLY I got around to actually designing all these queens and kings I keep mentioning! There are 8 kingdoms in the comic's world, each one is led by one of these weirdos.

Comic lore (tl;dr shit nobody cares about):

Queen Lamai - Yellow Kingdom

Race: Gorgon
Design: Pretty typical gorgon design. I wanted her to appear terrifying and deadly, yet strangely beautiful.

Character: Quiet, mysterious, alien. Her intentions are never clear and her temperament can swing from docile to violent in an instant. She can turn her enemies to stone with nothing but a hateful stare, so even though she has the smallest kingdom, the other leaders tend to stay out of her business.

King Mogdir - Violet Kingdom

Race: Hybrid
Design: Strongly resembles the faun from Pan's Labyrinth, as a nod to my favorite movie. He's meant to be the result of fauns, satyrs, faeries, elves, and a clusterfuck of other creatures mixing over hundreds of years. He looks very "natural", with almost no clothes or accessories.

Character: Calm, passive, wise. Mogdir is an extremely powerful mage who is capable of immense destruction, but fortunately he only uses his powers for good. He shares a continent with Zareen, he and his people quietly repairing the damage she leaves in her wake.

Queen Zareen - Cyan Kingdom

Race: Dwarf (as in a fictional race of people, not a human with dwarfism, though they look similar.)
Design: Zareen has the most technologically-advanced kingdom, so I gave her more "modern" clothing. She has a lolita goth flair to her. She appears younger than she really is, since dwarves age slower than humans.

Character: Greedy, fun-loving, impatient. Zareen appreciates luxury and extravagance. Her kingdom is fast-paced and constantly developing, but unfortunately has ravaged the planet with pollution and deforestation. She shares a continent with Mogdir, who always ends up cleaning up her messes.

Queen Etios - Pink Kingdom
Race: Minotaur
Design: I wanted Etios to be a big beastly creature who looks like she's kicked a few asses in her day. She rebels completely against commonfolk (non-magical races) ideals, so she won't cover her chest even when attending fancy conferences with the other leaders.

Character: Brave, aggressive, stubborn. Etios does what she wants, whenever she wants, and god help anyone who gets in her way. She hates authority and is horribly prejudiced against anything without hooves. Her kingdom is a sanctuary for minotaurs, fauns, centaurs and satyrs--creatures that most other kingdoms shun. She's very protective of her land and people.

King Yerim-Mor - Green Kingdom
Race: Elf
Design: There's nothing threatening about this guy. He's supposed to look like a frail old man who couldn't hurt you if he tried.

Character: Nervous, weak, caring. Yerim-Mor's kingdom has a long history of being pushed around by Matuzu, and now it's been reduced to the most uninhabitable part of the continent. Yerim-Mor himself was always too afraid to fight back, and now it's too late as his people are sick and starving to death. He's the leader of the poorest kingdom, though he does put forth tremendous effort to help his people. He once had a beautiful gold crown, which he sold to Matuzu to buy medicine for an orphanage.

King Matuzu - Orange Kingdom

Race: Human/Elf Hybrid
Design: Matuzu's a young man who's obviously just taken Daddy's throne and has no idea what he's doing--he's just excited to throw orders around.

Character: Immature, friendly, prideful. Matuzu has just enough elf blood in him to wield minor magic, which he uses purely for his own amusement...Usually at the expense of others. He has little interest in maintaining the kingdom and instead just wants to throw his power around for fun. The other leaders and even his own people don't take him seriously.

Queen Evangeline - Blue Kingdom
Race: Human
Design: She's meant to look like a bitter old lady who makes a strong effort to appear dignified.

Character: Paranoid, conservative, nosy. Evangeline likes to wriggle her way into other leaders' affairs and wants to know what's going on all the time. She trusts no one, especially gaiafolk and faefolk, who she's completely banned from her kingdom. She's very prejudiced against anything that isn't commonfolk (non-magical races), and would prefer if the whole world were human. Her kingdom is known for its massive slave trade, something she disturbingly takes pride in. Despite her horrible qualities, she takes pristine care of her people and the standard of living in her kingdom is the highest on Gaia...for commonfolk, anyway.

King Folkvar - Red Kingdom
Race: Centaur
Design: This guy has clearly seen some shit in his time. He looks like he's personally fought in his own wars.

Character: Analytical, strong, stoic. Folkvar doesn't show emotion very well, but he is very passionate about keeping his peoples' culture alive. His kingdom has become a safe haven for gaiafolk and faefolk refugees escaping Evangeline's conquests. He doesn't necessarily care about the well-beings of these immigrants, but he does offer them free living accommodations if they join his military. He needs all the help he can get as Evangeline's forces slowly absorb his territory.
